Why Canadian?

Canadian Spas are unique in the sense that they are built for Canadian climates which can vary from very cold as in Eureka, on Ellesmere Island in Nunavut, with an average annual temperature of -19.9° C, and an average winter temperature of temperature of -38.4° C to 44.4° C as in the great heat wave in which occured in St Albans, Manitoba in 1939.

Presipitation also differs throughout Canada. The annual 6655-mm deluge at Henderson Lake on the west coast of Vancouver Island is one extreme. Enormous rainfall amounts of 50-80 mm are not uncommon from a single thunderstorm. While in Saskatchewan and adjacent Alberta precipitation can be as low as 250-300 mm.

This means that spas made in Canada must be rugged and able to function in extreme conditions. Canadian Spas must also be well insulated which can be done in a variety of ways to be energy efficient in these extreme climates.

The Canadian Spa Industry also differs from many other countries in that Canadian Spas are built to last decades and not for short product lifecycle to generate sales through repeat purchases as in many other countries.

The Canadian Spa industry takes pride in the quality and longevity of it's spas and is constantly developing and researchiung new methods to increase your value, satisfaction and over all enjoyment.

The most visible legacy of the Canadian hot tub industry are the hot tubs and water features Canadian manufacturers design & build. The craftsmanship and attention to detail takes years of experience to develop and master. Winning Design & Construction awards are a testament to their skills as a builders while continually challenging us all to exceed personal and customer expectations.

Canada is one of the most regulated countries in the world when it comes to consumer safety. All Canadian spas must receive Canadian Standards Approval.

CSA-C22.2 NO. 218.1-M89 is a standard for spas, hot tubs, and associated equipment intended to be permanently connected to supply circuits with voltages of 250 V and less (150 volts-to-ground), for use indoors or outdoors in nonhazardous locations in accordance with the Rules of the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I.

This code covers many different elements that have the same goal; your safety and well being.
